What Sets Our Cosmetic Surgery Practice & Surgeons Apart?

During your initial cosmetic surgery consultation at our office, you will have a one-on-one meeting with one of our cosmetic surgeons. This in-depth appointment is when we go over your aesthetic goals, medical history, and surgical and non-surgical options and answer any questions you may have about cosmetic surgery. We make sure to allow ample time for your consultation (typically 45-60 minutes) so we can determine the best way to improve your face or body and customize the procedure to fit you. This is an essential part of the process, as choosing your cosmetic surgeon is the most critical decision. We also offer virtual consultations for those out of town.

HISTORY

Our Legacy

Building the Foundation – Expansion, Education, and Accreditation.

Education has always been a cornerstone of the practice's mission. In 2013, New Look New Life established its Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program, reflecting its commitment to physician education, mentorship, and advancing the field of cosmetic surgery.

The organization continued its expansion with the opening of its Westchester location in November 2015, extending its patient-centered philosophy throughout the greater New York metropolitan area.

A defining milestone came in November 2016, when New Look New Life opened its flagship location at 551 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The facility includes a fully AAAHC-accredited operating room, providing patients with a private, state-of-the-art surgical environment designed around the highest standards of safety, quality, and comfort.

The Beginning – The Founding Vision

Founded in 2009, New Look New Life Cosmetic Surgical Arts was established with a vision of combining exceptional surgical expertise, compassionate patient care, and artistic precision to redefine the cosmetic surgery experience. From its beginning, the practice has believed that aesthetic medicine is about more than changing appearances—it is about restoring confidence, empowering patients, and helping individuals become the best version of themselves.

The practice first opened its doors at 31 Carroll Street in Brooklyn, New York, where it quickly earned a reputation for personalized care, exceptional surgical outcomes, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety.

As demand continued to grow, New Look New Life expanded into Manhattan in 2010, opening its second location at 200 West 57th Street, directly across from Carnegie Hall. This expansion marked the beginning of the organization's evolution into one of New York City's premier destinations for cosmetic surgery and advanced aesthetic medicine.

A New Generation of Leadership

As the organization matured, operations were consolidated in 2019, allowing the practice to focus its resources on its Manhattan and Westchester locations while continuing to invest in clinical excellence and innovation. That same year, Dr. Claudia Kim joined New Look New Life. Recognized for her meticulous surgical technique, artistic eye, and commitment to achieving elegant, natural-looking results, Dr. Kim quickly became one of the organization's leading surgeons.

In 2021, Dr. Kim was appointed to lead the New York offices and today serves as Chief Medical Officer, helping shape New Look New Life's clinical vision while earning increasing national recognition through television appearances and features in leading fashion, beauty, and lifestyle publications.

In 2023, New Look New Life entered a new era of leadership. Founders Dr. Victoria Karlinsky and Gabriel Bellini transitioned ownership of the organization to Dr. Phillip Kuan and Dr. Francisco Narváez, entrusting the next generation of leadership with continuing the organization's legacy of innovation and patient-centered care.

A New Era – Executive leadership and the "Luxury for All" philosophy.

Following an organizational transition in late 2024, Dr. Narváez departed the practice, and New Look New Life continued under the leadership of Dr. Phillip Kuan, whose vision has guided the organization into its next phase of growth, innovation, and expansion.

Janette Guzman joined New Look New Life in 2012, began conducting surgical consultations in 2013, and was promoted to Practice Manager in 2017 before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2024.

Joshua Robinson joined the executive leadership team in 2024, overseeing corporate strategy, branding, marketing, media relations, partnerships, innovation, and business development.

Dr. Rita Shats, who joined the practice in 2014, leads the organization's cosmetic gynecology and women's intimate wellness program, expanding New Look New Life's comprehensive approach to aesthetic medicine.

Beginning in 2024, the organization also embraced its guiding philosophy of Luxury for All—a commitment to delivering world-class aesthetic medicine in a welcoming, inclusive environment for patients of every background, ethnicity, gender identity, body type, and sexual orientation.

Growing the New Look Family

As aesthetic medicine continued to evolve, New Look New Life expanded beyond traditional cosmetic surgery through strategic acquisitions and the development of complementary healthcare brands.

In 2024, the organization acquired Sanba Physician Group, strengthening its ability to provide physician-led wellness services while creating a platform for continued innovation and growth.

Building upon that vision, Dr. Phillip Kuan and Joshua Robinson co-founded Sanba Skincare, a physician-guided skincare brand developed through years of international research and formulation. Scheduled to launch in late 2026, the brand extends New Look New Life's commitment to healthy skin beyond the treatment room.

In mid-2026, New Look New Life expanded its footprint through the acquisition of Ayewah Aesthetics, founded by Dr. Martha Ayewah, strengthening the organization's laser medicine and non-surgical aesthetic capabilities throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Recognizing the growing importance of education and storytelling, the organization also launched New Look Productions in 2026, a media division focused on patient education, physician training, documentary filmmaking, and original digital content.

Looking Ahead

Today, New Look New Life operates from two locations—its flagship Manhattan surgical center and its Westchester practice—while continuing to expand through physician education, strategic partnerships, media, innovation, and patient-centered care.

The organization's physicians and leadership team regularly travel throughout the world—including South Korea, Japan, Turkey, Vietnam, Dubai, Colombia, the United Kingdom, and across the United States—to study emerging technologies, surgical techniques, regenerative medicine, skincare innovation, and best practices from internationally recognized leaders in aesthetic medicine.

More than fifteen years after opening its doors, New Look New Life has evolved from a single cosmetic surgery practice into a multidisciplinary aesthetic healthcare organization encompassing cosmetic surgery, physician wellness, laser medicine, skincare, education, and media. Guided by a commitment to innovation, inclusivity, integrity, and clinical excellence, the organization continues to shape the future of aesthetic medicine while remaining dedicated to helping every patient look their best, feel their best, and live with greater confidence.
