6 Minute Read:
In today’s world, men and women are living longer than ever before. And not only are people living longer, but they are also maintaining their aesthetic qualities later in their lives.
Part of that comes from maintaining a healthier lifestyle, with balanced diets and regular exercise. However, another reason why older men and women are looking better than ever is that cosmetic surgeries and treatments continue to evolve and help people hold onto their youthfulness.
In 2020 alone, over 15,000,000 cosmetic procedures were performed. This goes to show just how important cosmetic procedures are to men and women today.
While many men and women (of varying ages) know that they want to improve their aesthetic beauty, they may not know exactly which procedures are best for them.
Below, we will explore the five most popular cosmetic procedures available to help you decide which procedures you may be interested in undergoing.
1. Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation has been one of the top five most performed cosmetic surgery procedures since 2006. And there’s plenty of reasons for this popularity.
Not only can breast augmentation surgery improve your physical appearance, but it also can help you feel more confident in the way you look and feel. Whether you’re at the pool, beach, park, or simply walking around the city, you’ll be able to feel comfortable wearing the clothes that you’ve always wanted to wear but never had the full chest to pull off.
Breast augmentation surgery is a procedure that uses implants (either saline implants or silicone implants) to improve the size, volume, and shape of your breasts.
This procedure is performed under general anesthesia. One of three incision placements will be used to allow for the breast implant to be placed. Along with the implant material, there are several other decisions that must be made, including the size and placement of the implant itself.
During your consultation, one of our board-certified cosmetic surgeons will help you make the best decisions for your surgery. After your procedure, you can look forward to turning everyone’s heads for the right reasons.

2. Facelift
Whether from age or lifestyle, many men and women suffer from sagging skin and the presence of wrinkles and fine lines on their face. These facial blemishes and imperfections can cause many people to feel self-conscious and can even keep them from showing their face in public. However, with a facelift, the facial skin can be rejuvenated so that you can look as youthful as you feel.
Facelift surgery is a procedure that tightens the underlying tissues and muscles of the face, removes excess facial skin, and tightens the remaining skin.
Depending on the extent of correction needed, a traditional facelift or mini facelift will be performed.
For these procedures, an incision is made along your facial profile (though the length of the incision varies for each type of facelift procedure). Internal sutures may be used to tighten, reposition, and anchor the facial tissue and muscle in place before the skin is removed and tightened.
Once your facelift is complete, you can enjoy a younger, more contoured and defined appearance to your face.
3. Nose Surgery
One of the most common frustrations that people have with the appearance of their face is their nose. Whether from birth or accident (a broken nose), imperfections with the nose can distort your entire facial aesthetic.
Luckily, nose surgery can help correct any nasal issues you experience so that you can feel comfortable with the appearance of your nose.
Rhinoplasty (corrective nose surgery) can help correct a list of nose issues that are common to men and women of varying ages, such as: nasal humps, a drooping nasal tip, a crooked nose, or a nose that is too large or too small for your face, among other issues.
Depending on the type of correction needed, your cosmetic surgeon will perform either an open rhinoplasty (where the incision is made on the skin between the nostrils) or a closed rhinoplasty (where the incision is made within the nostrils).
Once the incision is made, your cosmetic surgeon will correct the issues present, which may include removing cartilage and bone or augmenting the nose with cartilage grafts.
After your nose surgery, you can look forward to seeing your reflection in the mirror and feeling proud of your new and balanced facial appearance.
4. Eyelid Surgery
Though we tend not to think of our eyelids very much, they are central to our facial appearance. Many men and women struggle with aesthetic issues in their eyelids, including sagging skin in the upper eyelid (which can cause you to look older and and more tired than you actually are and can even impair your vision), puffiness in the lower eyelid, and dark circles/bags under the eyes.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) addresses these issues to help give you a clearer, more youthful appearance to your entire face.
You can have either upper blepharoplasty (for the upper eyelid), lower blepharoplasty (for the lower eyelid), or a combined procedure.
For this surgery, a small incision will be made in the natural creases of the upper eyelid or just below the lower eyelashes, respectively. After the incision is made, your cosmetic surgeon will remove excess skin and fat as well as redistribute any subcutaneous fat and tissue in the eyelid.
Once your procedure is complete, you can hopefully feel more confident in the appearance of your eyelids, which will only help to accentuate your beautiful eyes.
5. Liposuction
Liposuction is one of the most versatile and trusted plastic surgery procedures available to men and women. Nearly every single person has excess fat that just doesn’t seem to go away, no matter how healthy your diet is or how much you exercise. That is because this stubborn fat is often resistant to natural methods. Because of this, liposuction is the best way to get rid of these pockets of fat.
Liposuction surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that requires a small incision to be made in the target area. Once the incision is made, a thin tube called a cannula is inserted through the incision. The cannula is used to loosen the subcutaneous fat. This fat is then vacuumed out of your body through the cannula, and the best part is that the fat is gone permanently.
While liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure, it does offer you the chance to achieve a more contoured and defined physique that you can feel confident about.
